Peter Bowen

Peter Bowen is from Horsham in West Sussex, UK. Peter has lived in France, Germany, Denmark and Austria and has been in London since 1987. He studied Modern Languages (French and German) at the University of Bristol and subsequently learned Danish, Swedish and Norwegian on the postgraduate Technical and Specialised Translation course at the Polytechnic of Central London.
He was employed inhouse and under contract by a Danish translation agency for several years, working in a wide range of fields and honing his skills as a translator. Since then his skills and experience have been valued by clients throughout Europe.
At a rough estimate, since setting up as a freelance translator on 20 January 1992, he has worked as a translator for some forty thousand hours and translated over ten million words.
In 2010, Peter passed the exam to become a state-authorised translator in Sweden from Swedish into English.
He also works as an examiner for the Institute of Translation and Interpreting in the UK, assessing candidates applying to become members of the Institute.

Ragna Mueller Bowen
BA PgDip Translation
Ragna Mueller Bowen is from Flensburg in Germany. She holds a degree in Modern Languages (French and Spanish) from the University of Westminster and subsequently gained a Postgraduate Diploma in Technical and Specialised Translation at the same university.
Ragna has been working as a translator from English, French and Spanish into German, both inhouse and freelance, for over 20 years and her main areas of focus are art, culture, tourism, food, gardening/horticulture, marketing and technical.
Her love of languages and travelling led her to live in France, Austria and Mexico.
London, where she lives with her husband, sons and cats, has been her home for nearly 30 years now.
